God’s will is for you to have peace– not negative moods

Romans 12:2 ICB Do not be shaped by this world. Instead, be changed within by a new way of thinking. Then you will be able to decide what God wants for you. And you will be able to know what is good and pleasing to God and what is perfect.

Do not be shaped by the world. Instead, be changed by a new way of thinking.

Many in the world let their first instinct of emotion run their days. “Have feeling”: act on it or dwell on it.

But, it doesn’t have to be this way.

Now chemical depression, when it is at a very deep level may be different. At that point, you need assistance to pull yourself up.

The other negative emotions hit us- yet, we don’t have to stay there. I’m not being Pollyanna here. I’m not saying it’s easy. Sometimes, in the case of anger and resentment, you may not even want to let it go. I am saying changing to a new way of thinking is healthier. Taking steps to pull out of negative moods is a much better way to live.

God does not want us miserable. Convicted sometimes- yes. But not overall stuck in a bad mood.

God wants us to be whole and of sound mind.

Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear: but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

It’s not only fear that he has not given us. He does not give us anger, shame, grief, depression, or excessive guilt.  It is only with a changed mind and heart that we can, and will, discover what is pleasing to God.

Today, read the scriptures. Today read inspirational material, call a friend that’s lonely or volunteer.  In other words, listen and read God’s word then get about doing something that helps others and will make you feel good as a byproduct.

Until Next Time~
Blessings, Kate
