Hang on to Belief

2 Corinthians 5:7 NLT For we live by believing and not by seeing.

The joy of the Lord is my strength, Nehemiah 8:10.

Psalms 28:7 NLT: The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me; fills my heart with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.”

Why these specific verses on strength and joy? I chose them because God’s strength and joy give us the sustaining power to believe. When we feel joy, it is easy to believe. When we feel strong, we have faith to believe. Today, in our sorrows, we need to live by what we believe not, by what we see. What we see in the natural is only temporary. Jeremy H. Winning once said: “Pain is only temporary but, victory is forever.”

We sing a song in church that says: “Victory is mine. Victory is mine. Victory today is mine. I told Satan to get thee behind. Victory today is mine.” We read in 1 Corinthians 15:57 NIV “But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Remember, “We walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7 NIV).

Faith is what we believe in, our faith, that God will see us through. Though the storm clouds are closing in, though a tempest wind may blow; my heart and mind stay set on the Lord; not the things that I see but the hope in the future both here and in the world to come.

Until Next Time~
Blessings, Kate
