John 14:27 Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell him every detail of your life, then God’s wonderful peace that transcends human understanding will make the answers known to you through Jesus Christ.
We often feel pulled in different directions. There is family, work, school, exercise, errands, household chores, etc. All these things compete for more time and attention than it seems we have. It causes us to worry (endlessly). One way to cure this is to give up. But then we’d have a terrible, isolated, quality of life. No! That isn’t the way to go. So let’s look at this scripture:
Offering faith-filled requests to God as we are saturated in prayer: is our daily dose of sanity.
We cast our cares onto God because he cares about us (1 Peter 5:7). In the TPT, 1 Peter 5:7 says it like this “Pour out all your worries and stress upon him and leave them there, for he always tenderly cares for you.”
Picking back up in Philippians, we tell God all the details of our lives. Yes, sure, he already knows- but is that how we treat our friends- just assume they should know what is bothering us. I shouldn’t have to talk with them about this. No! Of course not. We build intimacy through sharing, listening, and spending vulnerable time together regularly.
That is all God is asking of you.
Let him love on you. Let his tender care embrace you today.
Peace- isn’t that something we all crave?
Have you ever met people who just seem so calm in the midst of a life storm crashing in on them? My guess is they are believers trusting in God to provide and support their peace. He is willing and wants to do the same for you- right here, right now. Ask him! Tell him the details of your life and heart. Then ask for his peace that is beyond anything you could ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20).
Until Next Time~
Blessings, Kate
