Give yourself a break. Stop beating yourself up! Everyone makes mistakes, has setbacks and failures. You don’t come with a book on how to get it right all the time. You will fail sometimes, not because you planned to, but simply because you’re human. Failure is a part of creating a great life.
Les Brown
Les Brown was one of the lead motivational speakers in the 80’s and 90’s. His sayings were short/hip/slick/and cool. They were also true.
None of us has a manual on how to get things right all the time. Many of the people who make it big in life have read the biographies of the great people who have passed on. We pick up tips and strategies through the examples of others.
Beating yourself up is not going to change anything for the better. No one gets better when they are angry with themselves, so stop it.
Instead re-focus on what one step you can take today to turn your life around for the better. If you can’t think of anything then go out and help someone less fortunate than you. Serve at a soup kitchen, help at a day center for people with mental challenges, write a check to a domestic violence shelter. Listen to someone else’s problems.
Remember God is with you and he’s not beating you over the head- so ease up on yourself and get into the solution instead.
Until Next Time~
Blessings, Kate
