Peace in troubled times

The blessings of the Lord are bountiful. We praise His name from glory to glory to glory. 

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body, and be thankful. -Colossians 3:15 

Is there peace in your heart today?  Has Christ strengthened you to get through another day?  What about to THRIVE through another day?  

Have you given it to God? 

I was listening to a book on video. It is filled with quotes from the Bible and is about turning things that concern us over to God. One of the lines that is already having an effect on me is this: 
I now turn this burden (fill in the blank) over to the Christ within me. 

I heard the whole chapter out. There was an example of a relationship and one about a debt. 

I started listing burdens I would like lifted in my life. I came up with about 5 things that are ongoing issues that either I struggle with, or, difficulties that keep arising in relationships.  

I did a little study and this is what I found: 

Ephesians 3:17-19 New International Version

17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. 

We are to live as Jesus is in us.
We do this by faith. 

What are you going through today?  What do you struggle with that you wish to be done with? 

The book I mentioned above says to repeat the phrase over and over throughout the day. To say it with all feeling and emotion behind it. Sometimes we may have to steadily say it to ourselves when temptations to forget it come up…i.e., when literal temptations arise, or when we are walking through situations directly aligned with that which we are wanting to cast upon the Lord. 

I started this process last night. I immediately began to cast my cares repeatedly. I know all this may seem elementary to seasoned believers. But I believe we all need a reminder from time to time. And for those new to the faith—when the initial pink cloud fades and reality that life is still filled with struggle sets in—they need to know there is hope. Life doesn’t have to stay miserable. 

We can’t do that if we do not believe in the hope that will see us through.  

By faith today walk in the knowledge that you are not alone:
