Chrisitan are you seeking your purpose? I know what it is.
So many people are trying to find their purpose. they are trying books and programs to come to the light; to finally have that A-HA moment that defines why they were put on earth.
For us today’s verse will finally quiet that stirring to know and bring us peace: We are called to bring people back into a right relationship with God. To reconcile humanity back to the creator so that they may have peace and everlasting life.
I had a big wake up call this morning. I was writing back and forth with my coach last night and finally saw her last reply this morning. In it, she reminded me that blogging for me ultimately is NOT about followers and likes. It is NOT about getting a paid blog so I can create avenues of income.
The purpose of my blog is to share the message and lift the weary. I started this blog to reconcile hurt people back to the Lord. And if I remain on that focus it completely changes how I feel about blogging and stirs my excitement. Instead of the worry and frustration that it is not growing very fast.
How fast it grows is not my business. I can help it grow, but, ultimately it is about reaching that one who needed a word for that day–whether they read this in their reader and it doesn’t register on my stats or if they come to my site. I must keep my focus on my aim and calling.
It is easy to get caught up in “what else”? “Where can this take me?” But that is not our calling. It is ok to set goals and dreams and GO FOR THEM. But ultimately our purpose is to bring others to God.
And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; All this is from God. Through Christ, God made peace between us and himself. And God gave us the work of bringing everyone into peace with him.
2 Corinthians 5:18 ICB
Until Next Time~

Amen Kate. Our calling is tied to who we are, our purpose, and we cannot afford to make it about anything else. I appreciate these types of reminders as they confirm His peace within. Have a merry blessed Christmas!

Thanks for the beautiful reminder to leave it in God’s hands. We can plant and water but growth is up to Him. I love your reasons for blogging. I agree! I started blogging to share the hope and love I found in Jesus with others. That is the point. Not the number of followers.

Kate, this is what Paul was writing about to the Corinthians regarding his & Apollos’ ministries — the workers of the field versus the God who causes life and growth. It is also the context for building up the church with solid materials or wood-hay-stubble. That illustration is not regarding personal salvation as many claim, it is about one’s doing the tasks God calls us to do. If much of our work for the Kingdom burns up, one is still saved. That’s because our salvation is not works-based but faith-in-God based. Our message to others is for them to be reconciled with God as Musings&Roses commented in support of you.
Too Cool for the thread and comments. Yea!!!
