Who Has God Called You to Minister To
Acts 15:7 – After there had been much debate, Peter stood up and said to them “Brethren, you know that in the early days God made a choice among you, that by my mouth the gentiles would hear the word of the gospel and believe.
I have been searching, and even begging God for insight, as to what my calling is and what niche I might focus on.
I’ve had other callings in my life. I served as an assistant pastor, a youth pastor, a substitute teacher in public schools, a director of a community outreach center, and a life coach. Yet, perhaps you have noticed: life moves on and sometimes, for some of us, we are moved to a new vocation or avocation.
I have a big variety of life experiences. Some are really awesome. Some I would not wish on anyone to experience. I am not ashamed of my past. It is said that God can use our mistakes and low points to connect with other people. So, in this blog I want to connect with women who have been tossed and turned by life; women with scars and wounds who are rebuilding their lives one day at a time.
I envision this blog to contain posts about living well, about overcoming problem areas, mental wellness, and you will also find posts about spiritual and Christian insights. Take what you are interested in and ignore the rest.
It’s taken me 2 years to come up with a niche that I am truly interested and called toward. If I can help even one person at a time to rise up, heal, and move forward than this blog will be a success.
So back to the question in the title- who are you called to reach out to? Do you volunteer, know your neighbors, have a life experience many can relate to? Relating to others and reaching out to bless them has a return on your investment. Interestingly, when I give I receive. When I cheer up a stranger with a compliment—I feel cheery inside. The same happens when I show someone they are valuable—I feel valuable. When I give a tangible gift—inevitably, within a small amount of time—I receive a gift of some kind from someone else. We reap what we sow.
For Christians we are called to spread the word with those who have not heard. That is our true calling. How that plays out in each person’s life will revolve around your experiences, personality, and interests.
Are you already reaching out and making a difference in the lives of others? Please share that in the comments or send a contact note to me personally.
If you haven’t reached out to others yet—let me know what group you would consider blessing in some way.
Remember to get a blessing in life~ simply give & be a blessing.
Until next time
Blessings, Kate.
